Headstones & Memorials

Headstones and memorials are an important way of marking the final resting place of our loved ones. They are a tribute to the unique essence and quality of a person and are a lasting symbol of remembrance.

At Stonewriters we aim to guide our clients through the often difficult process of creating a fitting memorial for their loved one with unhurried empathy and professionalism. This can be achieved through thoughtful wording, appropriate lettering style, use of images and careful choice of stone.

We conduct all aspects of the memorial process personally. To discuss initial plans we meet with clients at our easy access workshop, or work remotely by email. We also make all of the necessary permit applications on our customer's behalf and in doing so we are able to efficiently manage the project through to installation. The designs are created as scaled drawings for customers to view and all memorials are crafted in compliance with Churchyard and Cemetery regulations.

Whilst being caught in grief, many people order a headstone at the same time as making other funeral arrangements, as the thought of 'shopping around' for a stone at that time is often too much to contemplate. This can entail considerable third party costs and has the disadvantage of the client never actually meeting the stonemason directly to discuss design possibilities. Stonewriters are able to maintain very competitive prices by dealing with our clients directly and although we do offer a brochure for clients to choose designs from, or take inspirations from, we also specialise in creating unique memorials to our client's own specifications.
